HUGE thanks to the 200 friends of Eigg that helped us raise our 5% contribution towards the purchase of St Columba's church and land. Thanks to you all, we were able to confidently lodge our Stage 2 application to the Scottish Land Fund on Monday 18th November! Your help and trust in our vision of creating The Solas Eige Centre - Ionad Solas Eige - for the benefit of the community and the wider public is invaluable! We will be keeping you updated on the progress of this application!
In the meantime, your contribution to our stretch target will allow us to repair the hole in the roof that was causing us concern: thankfully we have ascertained that no bats are using the church as a winter roost. Big sigh of relief , and now, with the generous offer of help by some of our island contractors to do it for a fraction of what it would cost otherwise, we can proceed!
